In this interview, we had the immense pleasure of discussing our first game, Trigger Warning , which will debut on Kickstarter in September 2025. We discussed the game's mechanics, its unique tone, and most importantly, the exclusive add-ons that will be available during the campaign. Among them:

  • A deluxe version of the gaming hardware for even more immersive experience,

  • A beautiful 500 piece puzzle , featuring the original painting created especially for the game.

This work is by Math Lamarre , a talented Montreal-based painter. In this interview, we discuss our collaboration with Math, the creative process behind this striking illustration, and the importance we at G1IDgames place on promoting artistic work in the board game world.

A vision, challenges, ambitions

We also took a moment to talk about the behind the scenes of our adventure:

  • The challenges of creating a new independent publishing house ,

  • The sometimes winding journey of board game creation ,

  • Practical tips for testing your game prototypes and collecting constructive feedback.

We also discussed a topic that is particularly close to our hearts: royalties awarded to game designers . At G1IDgames, we firmly believe that it is time to better compensate and recognize the creative work of game designers. This is a value we aim to embody in each of our future projects.
