September-October 2025 Recap
Share
Dear friends,
It's been a while since I've taken the time to write on the blog to give you news about Trigger Warning and G1IDGames activities in general.
A busy autumn indeed!
At the end of September , we were at "À vos tables, prêts, jouer!" and it was fantastic! A weekend of fun encounters and discoveries in a very friendly atmosphere and a huge venue. The event, organized by C't'à ton tour , was very well run and everything went off without a hitch!
We also went to AQIJ , the Games and Toys Fair reserved for professionals in the games industry (and not just board games: plush toys, wooden games, children's toys... a real trip back to childhood in Santa's workshop!).
I had the chance to meet my good friend Roberto Panetta , founder of Rock Stone & Dice and author of the game The Gems of Iridescia , as well as several other great people: Martin Labbé from C't'à ton tour , Dom from DomJoue , Fannie Lajoie , Katia Dupras from Meeple QC , the gang from Îlo 307 , Marc Beaudoin, Fabien Mangio and Alain Boudreault .
The gaming world in Quebec is full of wonderful people, always pleasant and welcoming. It's a community rich in personalities and kindness, and we're happy to now be a full part of it!
Finally, we also participated in a VIP evening at Randolph Pub Ludique Quartier Latin , at the invitation of our friend Simon Vigneault , director of Ludopolis .
On the menu: food, beer, friends, games… an evening worthy of the Randolph, but privatized for those involved in the gaming industry!
The cherry on top: a wonderful meeting with the founders of Randolph, a passionate discussion with Joël Gagnon , and even a photo with Normand D'Amour ! A memorable evening.
October: between games and preparation
October was a busy month, filled with games and preparations.
We first participated in the second edition of Ludofest Lanaudière , organized by the incredible Fannie Lajoie . We met many players there and introduced Trigger Warning to lots of new people who hadn't had the chance to meet us at FLIM or Estival Ludique.
The feedback has been very positive: as always, the game creates tense, hilarious and sometimes even very strategic situations!
For the last day of the festival, Andy St-Louis even used his musical talent to host a giant game of Hister!
Then, the Kickstarter campaign ended on October 3rd in style.
It remains a "human-scale" campaign, since we orchestrated everything internally, without a marketing agency.
For a first campaign, we are really satisfied and have gained a lot of experience.
Over 50 contributors and $3,500 raised — a huge thank you to everyone who supported us!
Unsurprisingly, the Deluxe version was more popular than the standard version of Trigger Warning … we're all the same on Kickstarter: long live exclusive editions full of goodies! 😄
Since then, we have been working hard on post-campaign logistics : shipping, transport, European tax numbers, finalizing production and receiving mass production samples.
All of this represents a great challenge for us, but we are moving forward with confidence in order to honor our promise of delivery in December .
Future
Two major trade shows are fast approaching, and one event that is particularly important to us:
-
Extra-life on November 8th and 9th at Le Coin du Jeu Terrebonne store

Montreal Games Fair , November 28-29-30 at the Bonsecours Market (Old Port of Montreal)

For the Games Fair , we were tasked with organizing the Proto Zone space , in order to showcase local independent authors.
This is something we care deeply about! We have prepared a host of surprises for the participants.
It's a lot of work, but giving a boost to the next cohort of game authors in Quebec seems both rewarding and necessary.
All the candidates are motivated and their games seem more interesting than each other — who knows, maybe the next Maxime Tardif or Théo Rivière is hiding among them!
We also have the honor of being part of the jury for the Prix des Lys , which has been recognizing the best board games in Quebec since 2009.
Organized by Ludopolis , the Prix des Lys distinguishes several categories: Children's Game , General Public , Beginner and Expert .
As a result, we played an impressive number of games this year!
It's both exciting and demanding — but it's worth the effort: you become true encyclopedias of the game released in 2025!
We will meet again very soon for the continuation of our adventures at Ludicon and the Montreal Games Fair .
Looking forward to seeing you there and sharing more great games together! 🎲
